Azerbaijani minister, UNDP rep mull collaboration & investment strategies
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov met with Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme Alessandra Roccasalvo, as reported by Caliber.Az, citing the press service of the Economy Ministry.
During the meeting, the minister underscored Azerbaijan's significant commitment to collaboration with the UN and its affiliated agencies. He provided insights into the country's economic development trends and achievements, highlighting efforts within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and initiatives for the reintegration of recently liberated territories.
Alessandra Roccasalvo expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation between the UN and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of attracting investments for SDGs and development projects across various sectors. She also conveyed readiness to support COP29 initiatives.
Discussions between the parties encompassed various items on the cooperation agenda, such as the utilization of financing mechanisms for sustainable development, strategies for the reintegration of liberated territories, opportunities for enhancing investments in energy efficiency projects, and potential collaborations within COP29.
