Azerbaijani MPs to hold sessions on human rights, mine terror, return to Karabakh
The Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan has scheduled a series of meetings and events during the upcoming autumn session, focusing on human rights, victims of mine-related terror, international judicial and legal institutions, and issues related to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.
According to the parliamentary Human Rights Committee’s work plan, the session will include joint meetings with Azerbaijan Mine Action (ANAMA) on the topic: “Ensuring Access for Victims of Mine-Related Terror to International Legal Platforms,” Caliber.Az reports, citing local media sources.
The session will also feature discussions on “Azerbaijan’s Unique Experience with the ‘Great Return’”, with participation from international human rights organisations and local advocacy groups.
In addition, parliamentary hearings are planned on the draft law “On the Great Return and Reintegration” concerning the country’s liberated territories.
The Committee intends to organise roundtables on topics such as “The Legal Profession: Its Role in Ensuring Human Rights and Improving the Application of International Standards” and “New Trends and Prospects in the Activities of International Judicial and Legal Institutions – Azerbaijan’s Perspective.”
A separate roundtable will address “Digital Sovereignty, Information Sovereignty, and Human Rights”.
These events are part of the broader “2025 Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” initiative and will be organised in line with leading international practices.
