Azerbaijani NGOs reps address Armenia from Warsaw Conf rostrum
The Warsaw Human Dimension Conference is underway in Poland.
Representative of the Western Azerbaijani Community Parvana Valiyeva, deputy chairman of the Return to Karabakh organisation Gulmammad Mammadov delivered speeches at the seventh plenary session on “Tolerance and anti-discrimination” on October 11.
In their speeches, they called on Armenia to recognise the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return to their houses peacefully, Trend reports.
“We welcome the dialogue between the central government of Azerbaijan and the Armenian population of Karabakh. As part of all processes, we call on Armenia to recognise the right of Western Azerbaijanis to return to their homes,” Mammadov said.
In turn, Valiyeva noted that the Western Azerbaijani Community appreciates the potential of the existing OSCE mechanism in the field of national minorities.
“Unfortunately, we still see Armenia’s inappropriate attitude towards the ethnic diversity and minority rights. This directly violates international human rights tools. We want Armenia to recognise our right to a peaceful and dignified return,” she said.
