Azerbaijani notaries to accept foreign official documents without legalization

The Azerbaijani notaries will be able to accept foreign official documents without legalization if they are issued a certificate (apostille).

Report informs that this is reflected in the proposed additions and changes to the law "On Notary".

According to the relevant draft law, notaries will be able to accept foreign official documents without legalization if a certificate provided for by that Convention is provided in paper or electronic form in the cases specified by the "Convention Abolishing the Requirement for Legalization of Foreign Public Documents".

At this time, the certificate issued in electronic form will be accepted after checking in accordance with the instructions on the rules of notarial actions provided for in Article 27 of this law.
