Azerbaijani, Pakistani top diplomats chart new path for bilateral relations PHOTO
On March 7, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, engaged in a pivotal meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, during the extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers’ Council.
The talks centred on deepening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, exploring a wide array of bilateral and multilateral avenues of cooperation, Caliber.Az reports referring to local media.
Both sides highlighted the continuing momentum of the partnership, sparked by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Azerbaijan in February, and discussed expanding cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, transportation, energy security, and more.
Reflecting on the February visit, Bayramov and Dar revisited the agreements made during Sharif’s state visit to Azerbaijan on February 24.
The visit proved to be a milestone in strengthening bilateral ties, with Sharif signing five landmark documents aimed at enhancing the nations’ cooperation in critical areas, including oil trade, LNG and oil product exchanges, and closer connections between Nakhchivan and Lahore. Further agreements also touched on customs cooperation, agriculture, ecology, and education, setting the stage for a more prosperous future for both countries.
