TURKPA chief meets Turkish parliamentary speaker in Ankara for inter-parliamentary talks
Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), Ramil Hasan, has held talks with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Numan Kurtulmuş, during an official visit to Ankara.
The discussions focused on the assembly’s ongoing work, the expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation among Turkic states, and future priorities for the organisation, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Hasan underlined Türkiye’s role as a founding member of TURKPA, recalling the 2008 agreement signed in Istanbul that established the body.
He said the assembly plays an important role in strengthening institutional ties between the parliaments of Turkic countries and in developing model legislation to support harmonised legal frameworks.
Kurtulmuş praised TURKPA’s activities and expressed support for further deepening cooperation among member states. He noted that the Turkish parliament would continue to back the organisation’s initiatives aimed at enhancing regional parliamentary collaboration.
