Azerbaijani, Pakistani top diplomats exchange views on rising regional tensions
A telephone conversation was held between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, during which the two sides discussed the escalating situation in the Middle East and broader bilateral issues.
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az that the ministers exchanged views on the ongoing military escalation and the growing tensions across the Middle East region. They stressed that the current developments have serious implications for both regional and global security.
Both diplomats underlined the importance of strict adherence to international humanitarian law, ensuring the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure, and resolving all disputes in accordance with the norms and principles of international law through dialogue and diplomatic means.
During the call, Ishaq Dar also informed his Azerbaijani counterpart about the latest developments related to clashes along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
In addition to regional security issues, the ministers reviewed the state of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and discussed prospects for further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation.
