Azerbaijani Parliament (Milli Majlis) Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova met with the United Kingdom's Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan Lord John Alderdice to discuss the expanding scope of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting focused on several key areas of partnership, including the economy, trade, energy, especially renewable energy, education, and defence, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

Both sides emphasised the significance of high-level visits in strengthening bilateral ties, noting the potential for further cooperation following future visits by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Lord Alderdice expressed gratitude for the meeting, highlighting the positive trajectory of UK-Azerbaijan relations across various sectors and underscoring the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary collaboration.

In particular, both parties agreed on the vast potential for further cooperation in renewable energy, an area seen as a key focus for future joint efforts.
