Azerbaijani parliament makes statement regarding biased resolution of French National Assembly
Following the notorious resolution adopted by the French Senate on November 15, 2022, the French National Assembly also organized a biased political campaign against Azerbaijan on November 30, showing open disrespect for the norms and principles of international law, adopting a biased, unfounded, and unjust act against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
According to Report, Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan made the statement in connection with the resolution adopted by the National Assembly of France.
"These resolutions adopted by the French Senate and National Assembly mark the transformation of France's legislative bodies into an arena of political adventurism. We also categorically reject this resolution of the French National Assembly and regard it as political hypocrisy," the statement said.
The head of the Milli Majlis working group on Azerbaijani-French inter-parliamentary relations Soltan Mammadov called the resolution adopted by the National Assembly of France against Azerbaijan on November 30 "an absolutely unfounded and biased document".
According to him, it once again evidences the prejudiced approach of France to the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia: "Adoption of such a document prevents the formation of an atmosphere of peace, stability, and cooperation in the South Caucasus region".
The head of the working group stressed that on November 15 the Senate passed a draft resolution with approximately the same content: "If France was truly interested in the establishment of firm and reliable peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia and wanted to contribute to this process, it should have tried to be neutral towards both sides. Unfortunately, the events that have taken place indicate otherwise. After the signing of the trilateral statement about 270 of our citizens were killed or wounded in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the occupation. The French parliament has not yet commented on this fact. It has never stated Armenia's non-compliance with many provisions of the trilateral statement. It has not come up with any initiative to clarify the fate of some 4,000 missing Azerbaijanis."
