Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker meets with Belarus President
During her official visit to Belarus, Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with President Aleksandr Lukashenko, marking a significant step in bolstering inter-parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus.
According to Milli Majlis, President Lukashenko expressed optimism that Gafarova’s visit would further enhance the strong strategic ties between the two nations, built on trust, mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation, Caliber.Az reports.
Gafarova, in turn, conveyed President Ilham Aliyev's greetings to President Lukashenko.
The meeting also delved into discussions regarding the development of trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus, with both sides acknowledging the existing potential for further collaboration in various sectors. Reference was made to previous talks during President Lukashenko's visit to Azerbaijan, where avenues for deepening ties across multiple areas were explored.
Furthermore, the importance of parliamentary efforts in creating an appropriate legal framework to support bilateral cooperation was underscored, highlighting the vital role of both nations' legislatures in advancing mutual interests and strengthening ties.
