Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation arrives in Geneva to attend Global speakers’ conference
A parliamentary delegation led by Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament, arrived in Geneva on July 27.
The delegation arrived in Geneva to participate in two major international events — the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament and the 15th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament, organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Caliber.Az reports via local media
According to the Press and Public Relations Department of the Parliamenr, the visit underscores Azerbaijan's commitment to strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and promoting gender equality in political leadership.
Upon arrival at Geneva Airport, Speaker Gafarova and the Azerbaijani delegation were received by Fuad Iskandarov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Galib Israfilov, the country's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, and other officials.
During the high-level gatherings, Gafarova is expected to deliver keynote speeches and hold bilateral meetings with heads of parliamentary delegations from various countries, focusing on issues of global concern and parliamentary diplomacy.
