Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation visits Türkiye to strengthen bilateral ties PHOTO
A delegation from the Azerbaijani Parliament's office, headed by Chief of Staff Farid Hajiyev, is currently on a visit to Ankara.
The delegation includes Deputy Chief of Staff Rustam Mahmudov, Head of the Editorial and Publishing Department Khafiz Babayev, Head of the Judicial Relations Sector Nazir Bayramov and Assistant to the Chief of Staff Ilham Hasanov, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
During the visit, the members of the delegation visited the Anıtkabir mausoleum, paid tribute to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, and laid flowers at his monument.
The Azerbaijani delegation met with Secretary-General of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Talip Uzun.
The meeting focused on the development of relations between the two fraternal countries. Chief of Staff Farid Hajiyev expressed gratitude for the invitation and congratulated his counterpart on the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Recalling his previous meetings with Talip Uzun, Hajiyev emphasised his confidence that the strengthening of ties between the parliamentary offices would contribute to increasing the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.
He also highlighted the reforms implemented in the Azerbaijani parliament under the leadership of Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova and discussed the activities of the office. During the conversation, the importance of the signed cooperation agreement between the parliaments of the two countries was emphasised.
Attention was also drawn to the fact that the document includes issues related to the development of cooperation between the parliamentary offices. The sides further discussed the prospects for collaboration between the offices. The delegation then held a meeting with representatives from five departments of the Secretariat of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
During the meeting, the significance of mutual experience exchange and regular visits was highlighted, and reports were presented. The heads of departments gave detailed presentations on the activities of their respective departments. The visit of the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation to Ankara is ongoing.
