Azerbaijani people notified to be vigilant against fake social media publications
On social networks, through messages sent from fake accounts, a video message on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been once again disseminated, allegedly addressing the Azerbaijani people about the start of a new investment project.
The Azerbaijan Media Development Agency and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security reported that the recorded video message does not reflect reality and is fabricated information created using "deepfake" technologies.
The agencies again urged the public to trust only information provided by official sources, Caliber.Az informs.
“We remind you that the official website of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and accounts on social networks, being authoritative sources of information, are constantly active and promptly cover the activities of the head of state.
We call on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and social activists to always be principled in relation to such cases, to be vigilant against the backdrop of the spread of campaigns based on fabricated and false information at the global level,” the statement said.
