Azerbaijani PM visits embassy in Iran at new location PHOTO
Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov and his delegation visited the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran on July 31.
This visit marked the embassy's resumption of operations at its new address in Tehran, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers told Caliber.Az.
Asadov toured the embassy building and engaged in discussions with the ambassador and staff of the diplomatic mission.
The embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran was attacked on January 27, 2023, at around 08:00 (GMT+3:30). The perpetrator passed by the guard post with a Kalashnikov rifle and opened fire inside the embassy, while its staff tried to neutralize him. The head of the embassy's security service, Orkhan Asgarov, was killed in the attack, while two guards were injured. Shortly after, a suspect was detained by Iranian police.
