Azerbaijani president's aide: France - one of main forces behind Armenia's militarisation
Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev has expressed concern over France’s involvement in Armenia's militarisation, which he argues is a violation of international law.
Speaking to reporters, Hajiyev stated that France plays a significant role in supplying Armenia with deadly weapons, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
"France is one of the key forces behind the militarization of the Armenian side," Hajiyev remarked. "Armenia is an occupier and an aggressor, and its militarization is a matter of grave responsibility."
Hajiyev further emphasized that if Armenia and Azerbaijan are engaged in peace talks, there is no need for a third country to intervene. "The presence of a third country, on the contrary, hinders the normalization of relations," he explained.
In addition, Hajiyev highlighted the immense financial costs associated with the demining of liberated territories. "The demining process requires significant financial resources," he noted. "The victims of mine explosions are mostly innocent civilians."
He also pointed out that the mine threat complicates the return of displaced civilians to the liberated regions.
"It should be noted that the accuracy of the landmine maps provided by Armenia is extremely low," Hajiyev concluded, underlining the ongoing challenges faced by Azerbaijan in ensuring the safety of its citizens.
