Azerbaijani presidential aide highlights visit of diplomats to Lachin VIDEO
Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev, who heads the Department for Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration, shared a social media update on the visit of foreign diplomats to Lachin, a region recently revitalised following Azerbaijan’s full restoration of sovereignty over its territories.
The visit involved members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan and marks another step in familiarising international representatives with the reconstruction and reintegration efforts in formerly occupied regions.
Taking to the social media platform X, Hajiyev wrote: “Visit to Lachin with the diplomatic corps. We landed in Lachin Airport and tomorrow we will continue with Shusha and Aghdam program. Return to Baku by Aghdam-Baku train.”

The post was accompanied by a short video capturing scenes from the delegation’s arrival at Lachin International Airport and their initial engagements.
According to Caliber.Az, the diplomatic visit is part of a broader programme aimed at showcasing Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery efforts, infrastructure development, and plans for the safe return of displaced populations.
The itinerary includes visits to Shusha—a cultural capital of Azerbaijan—and Aghdam, once heavily damaged during Armenian occupation and now undergoing rapid reconstruction. The delegation is expected to return to Baku via the recently launched Aghdam–Baku railway line, underscoring the significance of renewed transport links in the liberated territories.
