Azerbaijani Press Council slams Charlie Hebdo's biased stance
The Azerbaijani Press Council has condemned the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo's biased stance.
The article titled "Pan-Turkism again wants to strengthen itself on Armenian corpses", published in the first issue of Charlie Hebdo in 2023, clearly demonstrates the desire to increase tension in the South Caucasus region and form a negative international public opinion against Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Report cites the Council as saying in a statement.
It is obvious that Charlie Hebdo magazine expresses the positions of pro-Armenian circles in France, the Council wrote.
The Azerbaijani Press Council strongly condemns the biased position of the satirical magazine and calls on the French authorities and the public, as well as the progressive societies in Europe not to remain indifferent to the morally and legally unacceptable activity of the magazine, and to consider taking measures against such trends in line with the local and international law.
