Azerbaijani prime minister, Albanian president foster bilateral relations

Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov held discussions with visiting Albanian President Bajram Begaj on March 14.

The meeting, held against the backdrop of the XI Global Baku Forum, underscored the significance of the event in fostering international dialogue and cooperation, Report informs.

Central to the discussions was the commendation of President Begaj's participation in the forum, signifying the mutual appreciation for bilateral engagements. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum characterizing the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Albania. Notably, the effective collaboration within international organizations was highlighted as a testament to the robust ties between the two nations.

A pivotal moment in the burgeoning relationship was marked by the decision to establish embassies in each other's capitals, symbolizing a deepening of diplomatic engagement and trust. The recent signing of the intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation further buoyed hopes for enhanced trade, economic collaboration, and investment facilitation between the two countries.

Acknowledging the fruitful collaboration in the energy sector, particular emphasis was placed on the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) project, wherein Albania plays a vital role as a transit country for Azerbaijani gas destined for Europe. Both sides underscored the importance of this project in bolstering regional energy security and fostering economic development.

Expanding cooperation in tourism emerged as another focal point of the discussions, reflecting the mutual desire to explore opportunities for cultural exchange and economic growth in this sector. Additionally, the officials engaged in dialogue concerning the broadening of ties across various spheres of mutual interest, reflecting a shared commitment to deepening collaboration in diverse areas.
