Azerbaijani, Russian foreign ministers discuss normalisation between Yerevan, Baku PHOTO/UPDATED

Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov have confirmed the need to step up efforts to normalise relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

"In the context of the discussion on regional issues, the need to step up efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia based on a set of trilateral agreements at the highest level in 2020-2022 was confirmed," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, Report informs.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also said the sides touched upon topical issues of bilateral ties - further joint steps to implement the provisions of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan of February 22, 2022.

"The sides exchanged views on a number of other international and regional issues of mutual interest, including cooperation within the Caspian Five," the ministry said.

A bilateral meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov has started in Moscow.

The meeting is being held at the mansion of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Report informs.

On December 4, Jeyhun Bayramov left on a working visit to Russia to participate in the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Caspian littoral countries to be held today in Moscow.
