Azerbaijani, Russian ministers discuss development of infrastructure within North-South corridor
Azerbaijan and Russia have exchanged views on cooperation in the development of infrastructure within the North-South international transport corridor.
“As part of our visit to Russia, we met with the minister of transport of this country, Vitaly Savelyev, and discussed the development of cooperation between our countries in the field of transport, including road, air and rail,” Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev wrote on his Twitter page.
According to Report, the two sides held discussions to agree on the draft agreement on the rules for the operation and maintenance of the automobile bridge and access roads across the Samur River on the territory of the checkpoints Yarag-Gazmalar (Russian Federation) - Samur (Republic of Azerbaijan) on the Russian-Azerbaijani state border. The parties held relevant discussions to approve the project.
It was noted that cooperation in the field of railway transport, including the development of railway infrastructure within the North-South corridor, continues successfully. Last year, the volume of rail traffic along the corridor amounted to 481,000 tons.
