Azerbaijani, Russian top diplomats mull de-escalating Karabakh tension
On August 15, a telephone conversation took place between Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Sergey Lavrov respectively.
The telephone conversation took place on Azerbaijan’s initiative, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the conversation, an exchange of views was held on the most relevant international and regional agenda. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for the practical implementation of steps previously agreed in principle aimed at the speedy de-escalation of the situation around Karabakh, including the unblocking of humanitarian routes, including the Lachin road.
The non-alternativeness of the implementation of the entire complex of tripartite agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia was emphasized for achieving a sustainable normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan.
The ministers expressed a common opinion about the counter-productiveness of attempts to replace concrete work in this area with political propaganda actions.
