Azerbaijani servicemen join multinational search, rescue exercise in Konya PHOTO
The Anatolian Phoenix – 2026 international search and rescue exercise has officially commenced in Konya, Türkiye, bringing together servicemen from multiple countries.
The exercise is designed to enhance coordination and operational interoperability among international search and rescue teams, improve command and control mechanisms, elevate the professional skills of personnel, and strengthen capabilities in locating and rescuing crew members in emergency scenarios, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
Participants will also focus on ensuring the effective execution of rescue operations at sea, on land, and in challenging terrains, facilitating the safe evacuation of pilots, providing aerial support, and further developing the expertise of forward air controllers.
Azerbaijan is participating in the exercise with a range of personnel and assets, including Air Force pilots, parachute assault and search-and-rescue specialists, forward air controllers, technical staff, and aviation equipment. The multinational exercise is scheduled to continue until April 17.
