Azerbaijani Sheik-ul-Islam calls Armenian church for friendship "Religion should advocate for peace"

Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), the Sheikh of all Caucasus, Sheikh-ul-Islam, Haji Allahshukur Pashazade has commented on the foreign threats voiced against Azerbaijan.

According to him, it is impossible to speak with Azerbaijan in the language of an ultimatum.

“I think that the statements of the Armenian Catholicos are unacceptable for a religious person. Religious persons should not call for war but for peace. The new calls for war of the Armenian Catholicos are connected with the fact that he became a victim of his political ambitions. The intervention of religious leaders in politics is wrong. We call on the Armenian Church for friendship,” said the Sheikh, per Report.
