Azerbaijani speaker meets Montenegrin counterpart amid talks on regional peace PHOTO
Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament), has held a meeting with Andrija Mandić, her Montenegrin counterpart, on the sidelines of the 1st Summit of Speakers of Member Parliaments and Partners of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, during which the sides discussed the regional peace.
She briefed her counterpart on the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalisation process, while the Montenegrin side expressed support for the peace efforts, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Mandić said Montenegro views the establishment of peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia as a political achievement for both countries.
Gafarova also highlighted the importance of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean in developing inter-parliamentary cooperation and praised the organisation of the summit in Montenegro.
The officials stressed the importance of political dialogue, mutual visits, and parliamentary contacts in strengthening bilateral relations.
They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
