Azerbaijani State Security Service, ICRC rep discuss humanitarian mission issues
Head of the Azerbaijani State Security Service, Chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing People Ali Naghiyev received Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) office in Azerbaijan Dragana Kojic on October 31.
During the conversation, Naghiyev touched upon the issues related to the humanitarian mission being carried out by the ICRC in Azerbaijan, clarifying the fate of Azerbaijani citizens who went missing during the Karabakh war as a result of Armenia's aggressive policy, and Armenia's unwillingness to provide information about the missing people, the Azerbaijani State Security Service told Trend.
Gratitude was expressed for the ICRC’s support in the exhumation and identification of the remains of Azerbaijani citizens found in the territories liberated from occupation recently.
The sides expressed their hope that definite results will be achieved soon in connection with the above-mentioned circumstances, which were met in Azerbaijani society with great concern, thanks to joint efforts with the ICRC.
In turn, Kojic noted that important steps were taken as part of the joint efforts to resolve the issues on the agenda, and informed about the recent measures taken by the ICRC.
The views on other issues that aroused the mutual interest of the sides were broadly exchanged during the meeting.
