Azerbaijani top diplomat, outgoing Italian envoy mull relations & regional dynamics
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov welcomed outgoing Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Claudio Taffuri on April 19, where they engaged in discussions regarding the multi-vector strategic partnership between the two nations and the prevailing regional situation.
Bayramov expressed gratitude to Taffuri for his contributions to fostering relations between Azerbaijan and Italy, extending well wishes for his future endeavors, Caliber.Az reports.
Both sides expressed contentment with the progression of bilateral relations across various sectors, emphasizing the significance of continued political consultations and reciprocal visits.
The upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan was a focal point of discussion, with Bayramov highlighting its potential to enhance cooperation with partners like Italy in combating climate change.
Addressing the post-conflict period and reconstruction efforts in liberated territories, Bayramov appreciated Italy's fair stance and urged other actors to emulate it, emphasizing the importance of impartiality in advancing peace and security in the region.
In turn, Taffuri conveyed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support and cooperation throughout his diplomatic tenure, expressing confidence in further strengthening the partnership between the two nations.
