Azerbaijani top prosecutor discusses attack on nation's Beirut embassy with Lebanese counterpart
The footage was spread on August 29 by numerous local and international media outlets about approximately 50 individuals of Armenian nationality, who gathered in front of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Lebanon, staged a protest, damaged the embassy's perimeter fence and paint, and threw explosives-filled bottles as well as solid objects into the building.
Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, spoke on phone with Ghassan Oueidat, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lebanon, regarding this matter.
During the telephone conversation, it was requested to take immediate action to identify the group of accountable individuals and bring them to justice by conducting a thorough, comprehensive, and objective investigation in accordance with international norms and national legislation. In addition, the Azerbaijani side offered its assistance and cooperation in the investigation of the incident. The parties have agreed to coordinate their efforts on this matter.
