Azerbaijani, Turkish FMs stress diplomacy to curb regional escalation
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, to discuss the escalating military and political situation in the region, rising tensions in the Middle East, and related security risks, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
During the discussion, both ministers emphasized that the further spread of regional conflict is unacceptable and underscored the necessity of resolving disputes through diplomatic channels in accordance with international law and established principles.
The sides highlighted the importance of maintaining stability and security in the region, with particular focus on safeguarding civilians and protecting civilian infrastructure as a top priority.
The ministers also reaffirmed the significance of strategic alliance ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in the current geopolitical context, pledging continued close coordination between the two brotherly nations.
The conversation further included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest, reinforcing the ongoing diplomatic and strategic dialogue between Baku and Ankara.
