Azerbaijani, Turkish foreign ministers discuss strategic partnership in Gabala

On 6 October 2025, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Gabala, Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the successful development of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye allied relations, which are based on the principles of brotherhood and mutual trust. They noted that cooperation between the two countries continues to strengthen across all levels and platforms, Caliber.Az reports via the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The discussions focused on key areas of bilateral partnership, including political and security cooperation, economic and trade relations, as well as collaboration in the energy, transport, and communications sectors. Both sides underlined the importance of maintaining close coordination and mutual support within regional and international organisations, particularly within the framework of the OTS.

Minister Bayramov shared details of the meeting on his official X account, writing:

“Pleased to have met my colleague and dear brother, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye Hakan Fidan, on the sidelines of the Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Gabala, Azerbaijan.

Our fraternal alliance & strategic partnership continues to strengthen across all spheres.

Discussed the current stage & prospects of our multivectoral as well as comprehensive cooperation.

Rooted in common heritage, our cooperation within the OTS is pivotal in terms of deepening our partnership & building a prosperous future together.”

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to further deepen their strategic alliance and enhance cooperation within the Turkic world.
