Azerbaijani, Turkish National Defence Universities strengthen bilateral academic ties PHOTO

Rector of Azerbaijan’s National Defence University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov and his Turkish counterpart, Professor Erhan Afyoncu have discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in military education as part of a visit connected to an upcoming High-Level Dialogue session. 

Major General Abdulov welcomed the guests and briefed them on Azerbaijan’s military education framework, including admissions procedures, digital management systems, and future academic plans, the Azerbaijani defence ministry told Caliber.Az. 

He emphasised President Ilham Aliyev’s commitment to advancing the country’s military education system and developing a professional officer corps. Professor Afyoncu highlighted the value of mutual visits in deepening bilateral relations and fostering long-term collaboration in military training and education.

The two sides engaged in substantive discussions on their ongoing cooperation, future joint initiatives, and areas of mutual interest. The visit concluded with Professor Afyoncu leaving a message of appreciation in the university’s guest book.
