Azerbaijani, UAE foreign ministers discuss climate cooperation issues

A telephone conversation was held between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his UAE counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“Abdullah bin Zayed discussed in a telephone conversation with Jeyhun Bayramov bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as ways to strengthen them,” the report says.

It is also noted that they touched upon issues of cooperation in the field of climate change, in connection with Azerbaijan's hosting of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku in November 2024.

The UAE Foreign Ministry expressed its best wishes to Azerbaijan for the successful holding of this important global event.

The sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest and ways to support efforts to strengthen the foundations of stability and peace in the South Caucasus region.
