Azerbaijani, UK NATO representatives hold talks on bilateral cooperation, regional peace
The Head of Azerbaijan’s Mission to NATO, Ambassador Jafar Huseynzada, met with the United Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the Alliance, Ambassador Angus Lapsley, to discuss a range of strategic issues, including bilateral cooperation and ongoing regional developments.
The meeting was disclosed via an official post by the Azerbaijani Mission to NATO on the social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports.
During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of NATO’s Partnership for Peace (PfP) program, highlighting its importance as a platform for enhancing interoperability and mutual understanding between NATO and partner nations.
The talks also focused on the current state of and future prospects for Azerbaijan–UK bilateral relations, underscoring the growing strategic partnership in defence, security, and energy cooperation.
A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to assessing recent developments in the South Caucasus region, particularly the outcomes of the historic trilateral meeting held in Washington on August 8, 2025, which addressed the ongoing peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
