Azerbaijani, Uzbek defence chiefs ink bilateral cooperation plan PHOTO
Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov and his Uzbek counterpart Lt-Gen Bakhodir Kurbanov have signed a bilateral cooperation plan.
The deal was inked as part of Hasanov’s official visit to Uzbekistan on October 19 at the invitation of the opposite side, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
The defence ministers of the two countries, initially, visited the Bahauddin Naqshbandi Memorial Complex.
After reviewing the complex, Hasanov arrived at the Bukhara Combined Arms Training Ground. First, a one-on-one meeting of the defence ministers and then a meeting in an expanded format with delegations were held, the ministry said.
The views on the prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the military, military-technical, military-educational spheres, regular mutual visits of delegations consisting of specialists from both countries and other issues of interest were exchanged at the meeting.
Then the activity of the Combined Arms Training Ground and training facilities were reviewed.
In conclusion, the “Bilateral Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024” was signed.
