Moroccan envoy: Rabat ready to support brotherly Azerbaijan as peace deal nears
The signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia would unlock new opportunities not only for the two countries but for the entire region, Moroccan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Adil Embarch said during a visit to the city of Khankendi.
The ambassador emphasised that Morocco is following the peace process with satisfaction and is hopeful about its outcome, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“We hope that the agreement will be signed in the near future. This will open up new prospects not only for Azerbaijan and Armenia but for the whole region. If needed, Morocco is ready to provide support to our brotherly Azerbaijan. We eagerly await further progress in this process,” Embarch stated.
He added that Morocco continues to monitor the talks between Baku and Yerevan with optimism and expressed confidence that the peace deal would bring regional stability.
During his remarks, the ambassador also reflected on his impressions from the official visit to Khankendi — his first to the city — and expressed appreciation for the arrangements made by the Azerbaijani side.
“This is our first visit to Khankendi. A very interesting trip. One of the first places we visited was the university, which highlights the importance of investing in education and human capital,” he said, thanking both the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan for organising the delegation's visit.
