Azerbaijan welcomes Turkish delegation to strengthen strategic naval partnership Video

Azerbaijan's Defence Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, welcomed an official delegation headed by the Commander of the Turkish Navy, Fleet Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, who is currently on a visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Minister Hasanov emphasised that the cooperation, friendly, and fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are founded on mutual trust and support, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry.

He commended the high standards of international military exercises held in Türkiye, highlighting the professionalism of Azerbaijani service personnel who participate in these drills.

In response, Admiral Tatlıoğlu acknowledged the positive impact of Azerbaijan-Türkiye military relations, which have reached the level of strategic partnership, on the development of the naval forces of both nations.

The discussions also addressed the current state and prospects for expanding cooperation in military and military-educational fields, with a focus on the future collaboration between the naval forces of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

Following the meeting, the Turkish delegation engaged in talks with Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry advisor, Colonel-General Bakhtiyar Ersay. The discussions revolved around the implementation of the Turkish Armed Forces model within Azerbaijan's military.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Azerbaijani Navy, where the Commander of the Azerbaijani Navy, Captain of the First Rank Shahin Mammadov, and his Turkish counterpart discussed issues of mutual interest.
