Kazakh delegation tours Azerbaijan's commando, special forces units Photo/Video
A delegation led by Major General Almaz Jumakeev, the Commander of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has arrived in Azerbaijan for an official visit.
The delegation toured various Commando and Special Forces military units during their stay, Caliber.Az reports, citing Defence Ministry.
The visit began with a solemn tribute at the bust of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, where the Kazakh delegation laid flowers in honour of his memory.
Major General Akif Pirverdiyev warmly welcomed the visitors and expressed his pleasure at hosting them in Azerbaijan. Following an informative briefing on the history, daily operations, and logistics of the military unit, the two sides engaged in discussions on topics of mutual interest.
The delegation then toured the military facilities, including the indoor gym, the soldiers' dormitory, and the canteen, gaining insight into the sports activities of the military personnel.
Later, the guests observed live demonstrations of firearms training, including the use of pistols, pneumatic weapons, and small-calibre rifles at the unit’s indoor shooting range.
The delegation also had the opportunity to watch the commando training drills, where fully equipped soldiers showcased their skills on the mountain rappel tower and along the scout trail.
Finally, the Kazakh visitors held a meeting with Major General Alakbar Jahangirov, Commander of the Azerbaijan Special Forces, where a wide range of issues of shared interest were discussed.
