Slovenian FM pays tribute at Martyrs' Lane, Mehdi Huseynzade monument in Baku Photo

During her visit to Azerbaijan, Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, visited Martyrs' Lane and the monument to Hero of the Soviet Union Mehdi Huseynzade on April 17.

Fajon began her commemorative tour at the Eternal Flame memorial, laying a wreath in honour of the Azerbaijani men and women who lost their lives in the struggle for the country’s independence and territorial integrity, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

Later, she visited the monument to Mehdi Huseynzade, a Hero of the Soviet Union, renowned for his acts of bravery against fascist forces during the Second World War. Fajon laid flowers at the monument in tribute to his legacy.
