Azerbaijani, Uzbek FMs hail need to continue cooperation

01 March 2024 15:30

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov within Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye’s Antalya city on March 1.

Bayramov expressed satisfaction that relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, based on friendship and brotherhood, have recently become intensive, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

He noted the development of bilateral ties in political, economic, trade, transport, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.

During the meeting, the sides stressed the need to continue cooperation within the regional and international organisations, in particular, the Organisation of Turkic States.

Bayramov spoke about the preparation for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the ongoing restoration of the liberated territories, and the process of normalising relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

He noted that Armenia’s political and military provocations, which have recently become more intensive, as well as the fact that this country is rapidly arming itself and continues aggressive rhetoric, pose a threat to the peace process.

Saidov congratulated Azerbaijan on hosting COP29 and said that Uzbekistan is ready to make its contribution to the upcoming event.
