Azerbaijani, Uzbek security chiefs agree to expand defence partnership
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have held high-level discussions on strengthening cooperation amid increasing global military and political risks.
On 10 December, Ramil Usubov, Secretary of Azerbaijan’s Security Council, met in Baku with Viktor Makhmudov, Secretary of the Security Council of Uzbekistan.
As the Azerbaijani Security Council told Caliber.Az, the talks focused on the growing relevance of bilateral cooperation at a time of intensifying international confrontations and rising military and political challenges and threats.

During the meeting, it was noted that, guided by the political will of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the two countries continue to advance their strategic partnership and maintain effective collaboration across numerous areas.
Both sides stressed the importance of further reinforcing and expanding interaction in the military and military-technical fields. They expressed confidence that such steps would create new opportunities for enhancing stability and security in both the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
