Azerbaijanis appeal to UK Parliament due to attack on embassy
The Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in the UK has appealed to the UK Parliament and Home Secretary Priti Patel in connection with the attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in London by a radical religious group.
“According to the appeal, Azerbaijan is a tolerant country and opposes any radicalism, the Azerbaijani community living in the UK firmly condemns the attack on the embassy located on one of the central streets of London, considering this act of vandalism a gross violation of international law, as well as Vienna Convention,” the Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora told Report.
“We firmly condemn this attack. Such actions will further strengthen the determination of our people to fight together against radical religious ideology,” the message said.
This provocation revealed gaps in ensuring the security of the diplomatic mission. The host country should take security measures in accordance with its international legal obligations.
Azerbaijanis living in the UK demanded the expulsion of members of a radical criminal group to restore diplomatic and political stability in the country.
