Baku advances legal framework for ultralight flights
Azerbaijan is taking steps to establish a legal framework governing the operation of ultralight aircraft, as lawmakers consider amendments to the country's aviation legislation.
The proposed amendments to the Law "On Aviation" were discussed during a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee for Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Under the proposed changes, responsibility for regulating the use of airspace and flight operations involving ultralight aircraft would be assigned to a body designated by the relevant executive authority.
The draft legislation is designed to provide the legal basis for adopting "Rules for the Use of Airspace and Flights of Ultralight Aircraft," creating a formal regulatory framework for ultralight aviation in Azerbaijan.
