02 July 2026 18:54

Azerbaijan and Türkiye have discussed plans to expand defence-industrial cooperation, including the implementation of future joint projects and the adoption of advanced technologies, during a meeting in Baku.

As Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defence Industry, Deputy Minister Hidayat Azimov met with a Turkish delegation led by Deputy Chairman of Defence Industry Agency, Mustafa Murat Şeker, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan.

The sides conducted a comprehensive review of the existing defence industry partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, noting that bilateral cooperation has reached a strategic level in recent years.

The discussions also covered the implementation of future joint initiatives, expanding the exchange of expertise in the military-technical sphere, and advancing the introduction of modern technologies.

Both delegations expressed confidence that continued high-level contacts, mutual visits, and official meetings would further strengthen the defence-industrial capabilities of the two brotherly nations.
