Baku, Ashgabat map out broader cooperation beyond traditional frameworks
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations, which are based on friendship, brotherhood, and mutual respect.
Both ministers emphasised that high-level mutual visits and political dialogue play an important role in expanding bilateral cooperation, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry.
They also exchanged views on opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade and economic ties, energy, transport and transit, logistics, shipping, as well as humanitarian and cultural areas. In this context, they highlighted the importance of strengthening regional connectivity and making more effective use of the Middle Corridor’s potential.
The officials further discussed cooperation within international and regional organisations, stressing the importance of continued mutual support at the UN and other multilateral platforms.
The sides also reviewed regional and international issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to continue joint efforts to further advance Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan relations in the spirit of mutual benefit and strategic partnership.
