Baku castigates Dutch government's anti-Azerbaijani stance
Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Aykhan Hajizada called the statement of the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands regarding Azerbaijan unacceptable.
According to Report, he said that for 30 years the Netherlands has never taken into account the fact that as a result of aggression and occupation by Armenia, Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated, and a policy of ethnic cleansing against Azerbaijanis has been carried out, more than 1 million Azerbaijanis have been forcibly displaced and become refugees: "Despite Azerbaijan's repeated statements that the Armenian armed forces continue to be illegally present in our territories, are a source of danger in the region and are a source of danger in the region," he said.
Aykhan Hajizada once again recalled that the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as the 24-hour anti-terrorist measures implemented in September 2023, were carried out in the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan under the norms and principles of international law and that our country has legally restored its sovereignty.
He noted that Azerbaijan never expelled Armenian residents from Karabakh, and despite Azerbaijan's calls not to leave the region, they decided to migrate to Armenia and other countries: "UN missions in the region have confirmed that the Azerbaijani side did not attack the civilian population, and the International Court of Justice, based in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, rejected Armenia's latest claims in this regard. It would be useful for the Dutch side to put an end to such claims, which hinder the future development and progress of the region based on respect for the principles of international law".
