Baku celebrates 46 years of Iran’s Islamic Revolution with warm diplomatic gathering PHOTO
Baku marked Iran’s bank holiday on February 10 with an official reception hosted by the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, celebrating the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
The event began with the national anthems of both Azerbaijan and Iran, setting the tone for a diplomatic evening that highlighted the enduring friendship between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In his remarks, Seyyed Jafar Aghaei Marian, Chargé d'Affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, reflected on the progress Iran has made over the past 46 years since the revolution. He emphasized that significant achievements had been made across various sectors, noting the country's continued development.
Aghaei Marian also mentioned the strong cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, citing Iran's support for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku, as well as Azerbaijan’s election to the D8 group of developing countries as an example of their mutual friendship.
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev also addressed the guests, expressing satisfaction with the current dynamics of bilateral relations. "There are promising prospects for expanding cooperation in numerous areas, including the economy, transport, trade, investment, energy, oil and gas, agriculture, and humanitarian sectors," Mustafayev stated.
The reception, attended by government officials, MPs, foreign diplomats, and public figures, highlighted the continued strengthening of ties between Azerbaijan and Iran. The event was a testament to the longstanding partnership and mutual respect shared by both nations.
