An official reception dedicated to the 54th National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held in Baku on December 2.
The ceremony opened with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and the UAE, Caliber.Az reports via Azertag.
UAE Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohammed Al Blooshi highlighted the significance of the National Day, speaking about the country’s development path and strategic potential built on sustainable progress.
He underlined that high-level political dialogue and mutual visits play an important role in elevating bilateral relations, noting increased trade turnover in recent years and expanding cooperation in investment, energy, aviation, and tourism.
For his part, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said the friendly ties between the two countries have reached the level of a strategic partnership. He stressed that the historic visit of the UAE President to Karabakh in September was a clear example of solidarity and mutual trust.
Jabbarov noted that agreements signed in trade, investment, energy, and digital economy have further strengthened cooperation, with UAE companies actively participating in renewable energy and urban development projects.
He further added that the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and the Joint Investment Fund open new avenues for bilateral cooperation.
Individuals contributing to the development of Azerbaijan–UAE relations were then awarded.
The event concluded with a cultural programme.
