Baku Court: Levon Mnatsakanyan admits to role in occupation of Azerbaijani territories
At today’s hearing in the Baku Military Court, the defendant Levon Mnatsakanyan confirmed his involvement in the occupation of Azerbaijan’s sovereign territories.
Mnatsakanyan stated that over the years he held positions as a battalion commander, division commander, and chief of artillery within the self-proclaimed regime, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Responding to questions from the state prosecutors, Mnatsakanyan admitted to participating in the occupation of Azerbaijan’s sovereign territories as part of a military unit under the command of Samvel Karapetyan.
“I took part in combat operations in Aghdam, Jabrayil, Aghdere, Fuzuli, and other areas,” the defendant revealed.
To recap, the trial is ongoing for Armenian citizens accused of crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes such as planning and waging an aggressive war, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, and the violent seizure and retention of power, among numerous other offences.
