Baku expands defence industry outreach in Riyadh
Azerbaijani Minister of Defence Industry Vugar Mustafayev held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the World Defence Show-2026 international exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on expanding cooperation in the defence sector.
Mustafayev met with Gökhan Uçar, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Defence Industry Committee, as well as Mirghani Idris Suleiman, Director General of Sudan’s Defence Industry Department. He also held discussions with executives from a number of leading international defence companies, Caliber.Az reports per the ministry.
These included representatives of Singapore’s ST Engineering, Czech arms manufacturer Colt CZ, China’s ALIT and CETCİ, Turkish defense firms BAYKAR, TUSAŞ and HAVELSAN, and the US-based company Trillium.
The meetings focused on prospects for cooperation in the defence industry, the exchange of international experience, and an assessment of global trends in defence production. The parties also discussed the introduction of modern and innovative technologies, as well as opportunities to strengthen industrial and manufacturing capabilities.
