Baku eyes AI, cloud solutions with US tech leaders photo

During his visit to the United States, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, held a series of meetings with U.S. officials to discuss potential collaboration in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and related digital sectors.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, cited by Caliber.Az, Nabiyev met with Intel Vice President Sarah Kemp.

“On the meeting, we discussed opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing infrastructure, ‘smart’ mobility, as well as the training of national personnel in these areas. We exchanged views on educational programs for human capital development,” the ministry stated.

The minister also expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in exploring joint investments and applied solutions in priority sectors.

Additionally, Nabiyev held talks with Madhu Gottumukkala, Acting Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). During the meeting, the two sides “discussed prospects for partnership on compliance with cybersecurity standards, improving the reliability of government data protection in the cloud environment, enhancing the governance model in this area, and strengthening workforce training,” the ministry noted.

Nabiyev also met with Dominic Delmolino, Vice President for Global Public Sector Technology at Amazon Web Services.

“During the meeting, we discussed areas of cooperation in the development of cloud infrastructure, digital transformation of government services, strengthening cybersecurity potential, and expanding the innovation ecosystem,” Nabiyev wrote on his official Facebook page.
