Baku hosts 18th Council of Elders meeting of OTS PHOTO
Baku is hosting the 18th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).
Representatives from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are attending the gathering, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The participants are expected to discuss upcoming OTS summits as well as a range of internal organisational matters.
The 17th Meeting of the Council of Elders (CoE) of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) was held on May 1-2, 2025, in Girne, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
The Organisation of Turkic States (Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı) was founded on October 3, 2009, as the successor to the earlier “Turkic Speaking Countries Cooperation Council”.
Its main objective is to deepen comprehensive cooperation among Turkic states in political, economic, cultural and technical fields, and to contribute to regional and global peace and stability.
The organisation is built on a shared historical, linguistic and cultural identity of Turkic peoples, while its members commit to principles such as support for democracy, human rights, rule of law and good governance. The Secretariat is based in Istanbul, Türkiye.
